Проанализировать проблемы, с которыми сталкивается наш город.
Предложить пути решения экологических проблем нашего города.

Если немедленно не принять какие-либо меры, то наша планета будет в опасности большего загрязнения. На нашей планете существует много мест, которые не посредственно нуждаются в немедленной помощи. Одним, из которых является г. Волжский.
 Каждый из нас должен делать всё возможное, чтобы избежать “гибели” планеты.

Today, our planet is in serious danger. Acid rains, global warming, air and water pollution, overpopulation are the problems that threaten human life on Earth.
Who is to blame for the disaster? The answer is simple: all of us.

Our forests are disappearing because they are cut down or burnt. If this trend continues, one day we won't have enough oxygen to breathe.
The seas are in danger. They are filled with poison: industrial and nuclear waste, chemical fertilizers and pesticides. The Mediterranean is already nearly dead; the North Sea is following. The Aral Sea is on the brink of extinction, if nothing is done about it, one day nothing will be able to live in the seas.
 Every ten minutes one kind of animal, plant or insect dies out for ever. If nothing is done about it, one million species that are alive today may soon become extinct.
 
          

For example, our Volgograd region is really a paradise on the Earth. The climate is mild, ten months of the year are sunny. But the constructions of the Volzhsky Electric Water Power Station and large chemical plants have changed the environment greatly. The Volzhsky chemical complex pollutes the atmosphere with about 1000 million tons of dust and other harmful chemical substances. People of our region suffer from different serious diseases such as cancer, and cardiovascular diseases, diseases of bodies of digestion a gasroenteric path, diseases of the top respiratory ways as genic mutations. In the past few years, more and more people than ever before have developed allergies and breathing problems. If we can’t do something now, our city will become impossible to live in.

Another our problem of our region is water pollution. Factories VATI, TMK, SIBUR, and Volzhsky Orgsynthese are polluting our rivers the Volga and the Ahtuba with dangerous chemicals. Consequently fish are dying. The Great Russian River Volga is dying slowly.
There are wonderful forests and groves in our region where people like to spend their time. A lot of people go fishing and hunting here. One of the major problems is the destruction of our Volzhskaya Poyma. Two years ago the Electric Power Station caused a terrible drought and a result a lot of old trees have just dyed. Besides, people have cut out a great number of old trees these. So rare plants and animals die when threes disappear.

The town we live in has problems as any other city or town on our planet. We have a number of big enterprises that pollute air, land and water. The most dangerous plants are chemical ones. Large chemical complex with thermal power stations in Volzsky emit tons of harmful chemicals. These emissions have disastrous consequences for our planet. They are the main reason for the greenhouse effect and acid rains.    Air pollution is another serious problem. In Volzhsky just breathing the air is dangerous - equivalent to smoking two packs of cigarettes a day. The same holds true for many Russian cities.
Besides there’s much traffic in Volzhsky that causes the air pollution. People also pollute the environment by throwing litter on the ground washing their cars in rivers and ponds, smoking and using sprays.
Fortunately, it's not too late to solve these problems. We have the time, the money and even the technology to make our planet a better, cleaner and safer place. We can plant trees and create parks for endangered species. We can recycle litter. We can support green parties and put pressure on those in power. Together we can save the planet and all of us with it.
Firstly, to reduce air pollution, the government could ban cars from the city centre. This would make our streets cleaner, safer and quieter. The government should also force factory owners to put filters on their chimneys. By doing this, harmful gases won't be able to pollute the air and people won't have difficulty breathing.
The problem of people cutting down trees could be solved by planting ten new ones for every tree that is cut down. In this way, animals won't lose their natural habitat. We should also recycle paper products so that there is less need for trees to be cut down. As for factories polluting our rivers, strict fines should be given to the owners of the factories if they dump their dangerous chemicals in the water. As a result, our water will be cleaner and safer to drink and people will have fewer stomach problems.

Наши предложения по улучшению экологических проблем города могут быть предложены администрации г. Волжский, а так же заводам нашего химкомплекса и другим предприятиям нашего города.

 
Рефлексия:

Мы изучили экологические проблемы нашего города, проанализировали их и можем предложить пути их решения.

Мы ознакомились с лексикой по теме экология, повторили видовременные формы английского языка и усовершенствовали навыки работы с компьютером.
